Coldwell Banker agent to give house profit to National Guard

Ruth LeBlanc-Jones, a sales associate at the New Canaan office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, is sponsoring the construction of a house on Catamount Road in Fairfield, and will donate 100 percent of the profits to the Connecticut National Guard Foundation, Inc. The Connecticut National Guard Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation organized to provide temporary financial assistance, goods, and services to members of the Connecticut National Guard and organized militia, and families in need.

Grants have paid for the transportation, travel and housing costs to allow relatives to visit service personnel being treated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for injuries received during deployment in Iraq, and have helped families of deployed service members defray utility, medical and dental bills, along with mortgage payments. This year the foundation will award three general scholarships of $1,500 each to qualifying members of the Guard and/or their families.

Located on a four-acre lot, with a pond, the 4,000-squarefoot home will be priced at $1.95 million. Seventy percent of the profit from the sale will help support a restricted endowment fund. The remaining 30 percent of the proceeds from the sale of this home will be earmarked as an unrestricted general fund donation to the foundation.

Ms. LeBlanc-Jones was recently named Philanthropist of the Year award by Vision Fund, Inc., the charitable arm of the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Fairfield County, Inc. She also supports the A.L.S. Foundation and the Lymphoma Foundation, and has also participated in special fundraisers for breast cancer and diabetes research.

She has three children: Burton Jones, who serves in the National Guard of the United States Army; Stephanie Jones, a sophomore at Manhattanville College and Adam Jones, an assistant for her at Coldwell Banker in New Canaan.

Ms. LeBlanc-Jones been with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage for more than 20 years. Throughout her career, she has consistently placed among the top one percent of all Coldwell Banker sales associates nationally and has been Coldwell Banker's top producer in Connecticut for seven consecutive years.
